Have you attended the “Fall Fest” or “Fall Festival on the Avenue” in the past?
This year is certainly no different, but is certainly larger then anyone has been over the years. Stop out on September 15, 2012 to see, hear and taste, the music, beer, food, and entertainment they have to offer for the entire family, no matter if your young or just young at heart.
Just because summer has come to an end and the pools have closed, vacations have ended, there is no need to hybernate in your home. Come out and enjoy a nice gorgious fall day on the Avenue “Penn Avenue” in West Reading, and experiencing the diverse shops, restaurants, and businesses the Avenue has to offer, while enjoying live music.
Vendors will also have seasonal beer for you to taste and enjoy, many arts and craft vendors. Yes, you did read correct, I did say beer, each year the “Oktoberfest Beer Garden” features local, “autumn or fall” beers. This year the tent that houses the “Oktoberfest” is bigger then any other.
This year the tent will feature Yuengling, Lancaster Brewing Company, Spaten, Genius, and more, in the tent that will be located in the 500 block of Penn Avenue.
Not of age to drink, or don’t enjoy it, not to worry. Keep the little one’s entertained with face painting, a pumpkin patch, and the many activities and fun that will be provided by “Ozzy’s Family Fun Center“.
For the young at heart, “The Ferrari Club of Reading” will have cars showcased along the street, and many of the local shops will offer event and side walk specials. If your coming for the music you won’t be disappointed, many local and national bands will be here for your enjoyment.
The Mornings, Chris Kasper, Philadelphia Jug Band, and many more.
Never heard of “Fall Fest” or have never attended one….
This event started six years ago as “Fall Festival on the Avenue” and is now known as “Fall Fest” by local shop owners, that wanted to team up with the “West Reading Community Revitalization Program” that was started to bring more businesses (shops and restaurants) to Penn Avenue. Not only have them brought in more then 50 new restaurants and retail stores, but they also have given the Avenue a new look.
Berks County local communities, like West Reading, offer many events throughout the year for families to enjoy. We’ll take a look at all Berks County has to offer.
So stop out September 15, 2012 from 12(noon) till 9pm and see what the “Fall Fest” has to offer. The event extends from the 400 block to the 700 blocks of Penn Avenue in West Reading.
