Green Cleaning on a Budget

Want to avoid cleaning your home with harsh chemicals like bleach, ammonia and other store bought chemicals?  Don’t want to pay the higher price for store bought green cleaning products?

Here are a few ideas to clean your home the green way with using most items your family already has.

Bathrooms:

You can make a green version of your favorite soup scrubs.  Take baking soda, Castile soap, and a few drops of essential oils and make into a paste.  Rub it on your tub and shower and then wipe it off.  If you have stubborn stains leave the mixture sit for a few minutes before wiping off.  Add some orange or lemon oils to add a nice clean smell in your bathroom.

Clean your shower walls with and equal mixture of water and vinegar and then warm in the microwave.  Add some orange or lemon oils if you like to get rid of the vinegar smell.  Wipe down your showers, bathtub, toilet, sink and floors with the mixture.

Need a scouring pad?  You can make sure own with half a lemon and baking soda. Cut the lemon in half and dip the cut end of the lemon into baking soda.  Great for scrubbing your sink or tub.
